The free plan is a complete reference — about 30,000 words, 6 neighbors per axis, definitions, and the short passage reading. Pro removes the abridgement: about 55,000 words, 15 per axis, every dimension of the passage reading, and favorites.

Questions

Do I need an account to use the free plan?

No. Install the extension and it works. An account only exists to carry a Pro subscription between browsers.

How does the free trial work?

Install the extension, then sign in with your email — Pro switches on for 7 days. No credit card required. We email you a few days before the trial ends, and again when it has. When it ends you go back to the free plan unless you subscribe; nothing is charged automatically.

What if I subscribe during the trial?

If you subscribe while more than two days of the trial remain, your first charge waits until the trial would have ended, so you don't lose the days you have left. In the last two days, billing starts when you subscribe.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from the billing page. Pro keeps running to the end of the period you've paid for, then you're back on free. There are no refunds for partial periods unless the law where you live requires one.

What if a payment fails?

Pro stays on for seven days while the card is retried, and we email you so you can update it. If it still can't be taken, you go back to the free plan; nothing is lost.

Are prices in US dollars?

Yes. $7 a month or $60 a year, in US dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it at its own rate.

What happens to my favorites if I stop paying?

They stay stored in your browser. They're hidden while you're on the free plan and come back if you resubscribe.

Does it work in Google Docs?

Yes. It also works in Substack, Notion, Medium, WordPress, and any ordinary text field on the web.

Firefox? Safari? Mac?

Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge today. Firefox and Safari editions are in the workshop; leave an email on the install page and you'll get an email when they're available.

Is any of my writing sent anywhere?

No. Lookups and passage reviews run on your machine against a dictionary that ships with the browser extension. The only things that touch our server are your email address (if you choose to login for the free Pro trial or sign-up for the Pro plan), your subscription status, and a signed token that tells the extension which plan you're on.

Does Wurding use AI to write or rewrite?

No. It never generates prose and never suggests a rewrite. It shows you words and tells you how a passage reads. What you do with that is yours.
